Content Moderation, Reports & Appeals Policy

How content is moderated, how to report, and how to appeal decisions.

Effective date: 4 August 2026Last updated: 4 August 2026

1. Scope

This Policy covers reports about profiles, photos, messages, reviews, professional claims, location misuse, fraud, harassment, safety risks and other content or conduct connected to Orrbbit.

2. Reporting channels

  • In-app report tools on profiles, messages, reviews and professional listings.
  • Block function for immediate contact prevention.
  • Email to support@orrbbit.com for matters that cannot be reported in-app.
  • Public support and account-deletion pages on orrbbit.com.

3. Information to provide

  • The reported username or profile.
  • What happened and when.
  • Relevant message, screenshot, booking or transaction reference.
  • Whether there is an immediate safety risk.
  • Whether authorities have been contacted.
  • The outcome requested, where relevant.

4. Triage targets

Targets are goals, not guarantees, and may vary by complexity, staffing, jurisdiction and evidence.

5. Review process

1. Receive and categorise the report.

2. Preserve relevant information where appropriate.

3. Assess content, context, account history, credibility and potential harm.

4. Request additional information when necessary.

5. Apply proportionate action.

6. Notify affected users where lawful and safe.

7. Record the decision and appeal eligibility.

6. Possible actions

  • No action where evidence is insufficient or no policy breach is found.
  • Education, warning or request to correct information.
  • Content removal, reduced distribution or visibility limits.
  • Feature restrictions, messaging limits or location suspension.
  • Removal or expiry of professional verification.
  • Temporary suspension or permanent account termination.
  • Preservation and disclosure to authorities where legally permitted or required.

7. Emergency and law-enforcement matters

Orrbbit is not an emergency service. Users should contact emergency services first when there is immediate danger. Orrbbit will assess lawful preservation or disclosure requests and may disclose information without user notice where notice is prohibited or would create a safety risk.

8. Notice of action

Where appropriate, Orrbbit will provide the affected user with the action taken, the policy basis, duration and appeal process. Orrbbit may withhold details to protect reporters, victims, confidential methods, legal investigations or platform security.

9. Appeals

  • Appeals must be submitted within 30 days of notice unless a longer period is required by law.
  • The appellant should identify the decision, explain the alleged error and provide relevant evidence.
  • A person not materially involved in the original decision should review the appeal where practicable.
  • Orrbbit may uphold, modify or reverse the decision.
  • One appeal is normally permitted per decision, unless new material evidence exists.
  • Urgent safety restrictions may remain in place during appeal.

10. Misuse of reporting

Knowingly false, retaliatory, discriminatory or coordinated reports may result in account action. Good-faith reports will not be penalised merely because Orrbbit does not confirm a violation.

11. Transparency and records

Orrbbit will maintain proportionate records of reports, actions and appeals and may publish aggregated transparency information. Personal information will not be included unless lawful and appropriate.
