1. Purpose
Verification helps users understand whether Orrbbit has reviewed specified identity or credential information. It reduces some risks but cannot eliminate fraud, expiry, misconduct or changes after review.
2. Verification levels
- Identity checked: selected identity details were reviewed.
- Credential checked: a named qualification, licence, certificate or registration was reviewed.
- Business checked: selected business registration or trading information was reviewed.
- Expired, pending, rejected or removed: verification is not currently active.
3. Required information
- Legal name and contact details.
- Government-issued identity information where necessary.
- Professional category and service description.
- Licence, registration, qualification or certificate.
- Issuing body, number, jurisdiction and expiry date.
- Business registration or insurance where relevant.
- Consent to verification and disclosure of verification status.
4. Review process
1. Receive the submission securely.
2. Check completeness and authenticity indicators.
3. Compare information with issuing bodies or reliable sources where permitted.
4. Request clarification or additional evidence where necessary.
5. Approve, reject or limit the verification label.
6. Record the basis, reviewer, date and expiry.
7. Notify the professional and provide appeal instructions.
5. Professional obligations
- Submit accurate, current and unaltered documents.
- Maintain any required licence, registration and insurance.
- Notify Orrbbit within 7 days of suspension, expiry, investigation, restriction or material change.
- Do not imply that verification is endorsement, accreditation or employment by Orrbbit.
- Do not lend, sell or transfer a verified profile.
6. Expiry and re-verification
- Verification expires on the underlying credential expiry date or an earlier review date set by Orrbbit.
- The badge may be removed automatically when a credential expires.
- Renewal documents should be submitted before expiry.
- Orrbbit may require periodic re-verification or additional checks based on risk.
7. Rejection or removal
- Unreadable, incomplete, inconsistent or unverifiable documents.
- Suspected alteration, fraud, impersonation or stolen identity.
- Expired, suspended or out-of-scope credential.
- Misleading profile claims or services outside authorised scope.
- Serious or repeated safety, conduct or policy breaches.
- Failure to provide updated information.
8. Data handling
Credential documents are visible only to authorised personnel and service providers involved in verification. Other users see status and relevant public credential details, not the uploaded document. Documents are retained according to the Privacy Policy, normally while active and up to 90 days after expiry, withdrawal or rejection, unless longer retention is required for fraud, safety or law.
9. Appeals
A professional may appeal within 30 days by emailing support@orrbbit.com with the decision reference and supporting information. Orrbbit will target a response within 14 calendar business days.

Credential Review and Ongoing Verification
Orrbbit may review professional credentials and supporting information before granting or maintaining verified professional status.
Initial verification requires the professional to provide the information and documentation requested by Orrbbit.
After initial approval, Orrbbit generally reviews verified professional credential information at least once every 12 months.
An annual review is intended to help Orrbbit determine whether the professional information previously reviewed remains current. An annual review does not extend the validity of an expired credential and does not guarantee continued verification.
A professional credential may be accepted by Orrbbit for a maximum period of up to 24 months without renewed or updated evidence. Where the credential has an earlier expiry date, the credential's actual expiry date takes precedence.
Where a credential does not specify an expiry date, Orrbbit may require renewed or updated evidence within 24 months of approval or earlier where reasonably required.
Orrbbit may require updated information or evidence at any time where:
- A credential is approaching expiry
- A credential has expired
- Information appears outdated or inconsistent
- Orrbbit receives information that may affect verification
- A complaint or safety concern requires further review
- Regulatory or legal requirements change
- Orrbbit reasonably determines another review is necessary
Following a review, Orrbbit may:
- Maintain verified status
- Request further information
- Request renewed documentation
- Restrict verified status
- Remove verified status
- Temporarily restrict Professional Mode
- Suspend or remove access where permitted under the Terms of Service
Professionals are responsible for keeping their professional information and credentials current and for promptly updating Orrbbit when relevant information changes.
Orrbbit verification is not an endorsement, recommendation or guarantee of a professional's qualifications, competence, safety, service quality or suitability.
Credential Expiry
A professional credential is considered expired when the expiry date issued by the relevant credential provider is reached.
An Orrbbit annual review does not extend the credential's actual expiry date.
Where a credential expires, Orrbbit may:
- Remove or restrict the verified badge
- Restrict professional discovery
- Restrict professional requests
- Request renewed evidence
- Temporarily restrict Professional Mode features
until acceptable current evidence is provided and reviewed.
Where required, Orrbbit may retain limited historical verification records in accordance with the Privacy Policy and Account Deletion & Data Retention Policy.
Credentials Without an Expiry Date
Where submitted credential evidence does not contain an expiry date, Orrbbit may apply an internal maximum review validity period of 24 months from the date of approval.
This does not mean Orrbbit guarantees that the credential remains valid for 24 months.
Orrbbit may require updated evidence earlier where reasonably necessary.
